EarlySense Appoints New COO to Support Continued Global Growth

November 28, 2017

EarlySense, the market leader in contact-free continuous monitoring solutions across the care continuum, announced today that Karissa Price-Rico, Ph.D., has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO). This new position has been created to support EarlySense’s continued global growth in the hospital, post-acute and consumer health markets and follows the recent success of the new InSight™ platform and the launch of two new consumer products, Live™ for the aging population and Percept™ for couples who are trying to conceive. Dr. Price will oversee operations across all divisions of the company and will report to Co-Founder and CEO, Avner Halperin.

"On the heels of our recent accelerated market traction, we are excited to welcome Karissa as our COO to help meet the growing demand for our monitoring and data solutions across the continuum of care," said Halperin. “Karissa’s broad healthcare experience and deep home care knowledge will be instrumental in our ongoing efforts to empower medical teams to save lives and enable consumers to achieve better health, while enhancing patient safety and improving outcomes."

Dr. Price earned her Ph.D. in International Political Economy from Harvard University and has held a variety of healthcare positions over the past 20 years. She previously served as President of Healthways (NASDAQ: HWAY), a well-being and wellness provider for employers, health plans and health systems. She also brings experience in remote patient care, having served as CMO of Intel-GE Care Innovations, a joint venture that connected the care continuum to the home. Prior to that, Dr. Price was the co-founder and CEO of The Trusted Hands Network, a referral service that matched people in need of home care with certified home care agencies across the United States.

"EarlySense is well regarded as a technology innovator that helps facilitate improved patient safety and outcomes while enabling providers to do more with less through empowering clinicians and consumers,” said Dr. Price. "Contact-free continuous monitoring provides tremendous clinical, economic and psychological benefits for medical professionals, patients and families while not requiring patients to do anything they are not already doing – lying in bed or sitting in a chair- a true innovation in the monitoring space. I look forward to working with Avner, the EarlySense team, and our partners and clients to bring the company’s solutions to even more people across the globe and to help people live their best lives.”
