Endeavor Health Elmhurst Hospital announced the opening of a new 16-bed Patient Observation Unit. The new patient unit marks the first completed project in a major campus expansion designed to enhance healthcare access for the Elmhurst community and surrounding suburbs.
Located off the hospital’s East Lobby as an extension of the existing Surgical Observation Unit, the new patient unit is designed to improve the experience for patients while providing vital support to the hospital’s emergency department.
These enhancements are part of a broader vision to ensure residents have access to outstanding subspecialty care. Future projects, including a two-story addition above the Nancy Knowles Cancer Center and a new medical office building, will further expand local access to premier cancer care, surgical services and pediatric care.
