To serve the large and influential millennial population, healthcare providers and designers are creating a new generation of facilities, according to an article on the Health Facilities Management website.
To address the needs of milennials, healthcare and designers should begin by researching places they tend to congregate, the article said.
Dallas-based architecture firm HKS Inc. and JE Dunn Construction Group, Kansas City, Mo., explored similar questions. As part of the study, baby boomers and millennials were surveyed about their perceptions of healthcare. Those surveyed had visited at least one clinic for the first time in the past six months.
For instance, 62 percent of millennials said that in addition to having their healthcare needs met, they want to have a good experience as patients; just 52 percent of baby boomers said a good experience is as important as addressing their healthcare needs.
