Wyoming healthcare facility among those affected by phone, internet outage

July 26, 2017

The Campbell County Health facility was among the organizations affected by phone, internet outage caused by cut fiber optic cable about four miles north of Casper, Wy., according to an article on the Gillette News Record website.

Because so many companies use the cable, the outage affected approximately 13,000 people, said David King, Campbell County Emergency Management coordinator.

As a result of the outage, both the Sheriff’s Office and the Police Department experienced lower call volumes than normal.

Like law enforcement, the hospital could not communicate about emergency services Thursday, according to a Campbell County Health spokeswoman.
