Calgary healthcare facility bridges health, lifestyle

May 6, 2015

Calgary, Canada's, new Seton healthcare campus was designed to be an "authentic urban lifestyle town center" with a major retail component in addition to the hospital, according to an article on the Calgary Herald website.

The first phase of 130,000 square feet of retail includes Save-On-Foods, Shoppers Drug Mart, Highlander Wines and Spirits, BMO and TD Canada Trust.

The development includes LEED-certified buildings and the use of solar photovoltaic panels in the retail district that provide enough power for its surface lighting.

There will also be 1,000 multifamily residential units and a  recreation facility.
