WESTPORT, Connecticut… January 27, 2014 — Emerson Climate Technologies’ Next Generation Copeland Scroll variable speed compressor line was honored as the 2014 AHR Expo Product of the Year during the Innovation Award Ceremonies on January 22 at AHR Expo in New York City.

The new Emerson product line was chosen as the Product of the Year from among the top Innovation Award winners in 10 industry-related categories. The Emerson product was the winner in the “Cooling” category.  Featuring the company’s second generation of variable speed technology, the new product line can achieve cooling levels of 25+ SEER and heating efficiencies up to 13HSPF.

Widely recognized as one of the most prestigious awards in the HVACR industry, the 2014 AHR Expo Innovation Awards competition celebrated its 12th anniversary at the world’s largest HVACR exposition. Created by ASHRAE, AHRI and AHR Expo, the awards program was designed to recognize the most innovative and useful products among the thousands on display at the AHR Expo. Entries submitted by exhibitors each year are judged on the basis of innovative design, application, market impact and value to the HVACR industry. The Awards are also meant to promote and encourage new product development in ten major categories:

Building Automation

Cooling

Green Building

Heating

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)

Plumbing

Refrigeration

Software

Tools & Instruments

Ventilation

The entry fees from the AHR Expo Innovation Awards are donated to a local charity in the city where the Expo is being held. This year a total of $12,525 was donated to the Youth Action YouthBuild (YAYB) organization in the East Harlem section of New York City.

“We congratulate Emerson and all the winners of the AHR Expo Innovation Awards,” said Clay Stevens, President of International Exposition Company, which produces and manages the AHR Expo. “These companies deserve recognition for the innovative products they are creating and for leading the way in achieving a more energy-efficient and sustainable future.”
