N. C. hospital offers free shuttle service during construction

McDowell Hospital in Marion began the service to help patients and visitors make their way around the campus as the new hospital is built.


McDowell Hospital in Marion, N.C., is offering offers a free shuttle service to help patients and visitors make their way around the campus as its new hospital is built, according to an article on the McDowell News website.

Parking for visitors has been reduced at the section in front of the existing building but more visitor parking has been added to the area behind it. 

“The addition of this parking shuttle is just one way that we are ensuring that top-notch customer service is provided while we make improvements to our facility,” said hospital President Carol Wolfenbarger. 

 The new McDowell Hospital will be built in front of the existing one, which will later be demolished.
