A Chicago man, 21, who held a two nurses hostage for three hours at a Geneva hospital, was fatally shot by a SWAT team, according to an article on the ABC7 website.
Delnor-Community Hospital was locked down when an inmate in the custody of the Kane County Jail grabbed a correctional officer's weapon.
The incident started in the man's hospital room on the third floor of the hospital when he was being treated since May 8.
He took the first nurse hostage using the officer's 9mm gun, said Joseph McMahon, the Kane County State's Attorney.
McMahon said the gunman moved down to the ground floor to a small room near the hospital's emergency room, taking another nurse.
