The FreshAir1 Smoking Detection System is able to monitor for, detect and prove marijuana/tobacco smoking. It does this through detecting certain molecules in tobacco and marijuana smoke. Also, the molecularly imprinted polymer that forms the sensor resets following smoking detection, which enables continued monitoring without constant upkeep. These devices are tamper-proof and are also cloud-based, allowing for real-time monitoring. Potential facilities to use these for are settings like schools or dormitories.
