Abrazo Health Acquires Property for New Medical Campus

27-acre medical campus expected to break ground in 2022

By HFT Editorial Staff

Abrazo Health has acquired property to develop a medical campus on 27 acres in Phoenix. The initial phase of the development is expected to break ground in 2022. Plans for the campus include a medical office building, ambulatory services, and an acute care hospital.

Abrazo already serves West Valley residents through its freestanding emergency center, a 216-bed Level 1 Trauma and stroke center. Rapid growth and development in the area provide the opportunity to complement those existing services with the new campus.

Several major residential and commercial projects have been announced in the area, which will add thousands of new residents. Proximity to freeways make the new Abrazo campus site an ideal location for accessibility for residents of Buckeye Surprise, and Goodyear.

Planning for services provided at the new medical campus will include input from local health care providers and the community.

Abrazo West Campushas made major investments in high-acuity services and technology, including trauma, stroke, cardiology and advanced spine care and recently completed a 16-bed expansion. In addition to capital investments in its five acute-care hospitals across the valley, over the last three years Abrazo has opened micro-hospitals in Surprise, Cave Creek, and Mesa.
