Akron Children’s Hospital is marking its 125th anniversary with a mural that comprises nearly 10,000 individual works of art from the community, according to an article on the Crains Cleveland website.
The 15 feet x 10 feet mosaic mural, "Celebrating Children's." It depicts the Akron hospital’s campus and features images significant to the hospital's history and culture of family-centered care, according to the hospital.
The mural includes art from Akron Children's Hospital employees, community members, students from 26 local schools and members of 35 scout troops.
The mural was created with assistance from Project S.N.A.P., a national nonprofit that mobilizes people of all ages to take action on community initiatives.
