Amarillo VA renovating to improve care quality

The new construction will allow each veteran to get their own room and private restroom

The VA Medical Center  in Amarillo, Texas, is undergoing renovations to improve the quality of care, according to an article on the News Channel 10 website.

The new construction will allow each veteran to get their own room and private restroom with lift equipment in every room.

The new construction can sometimes interfere with the ability to provide care, however.

"Sometimes we're not able to see them as quickly as we can due to the renovations,” said engineer Alejandro Ortiz. “So we do have to shuffle spaces around to accommodate them. So unfortunately we do impact our patients in that manner."
