The San Carlos Apache tribe in Peridot, Ariz., opened a new 15-bed healthcare facility that will offer a range of medical services, accord to an article on the Eastern Arizona Courier website.
Currently, there are two physicians on staff, and six others are coming in to assist.
Hospital officials said the facility will employ more than 500 people once all positions have been filled.
Instead of being flown out, Apaches can now be treated here, Tribal Vice Chairman Tao Etpison said.
