St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, Wis., is in the $108 million "phase four" of a multiyear modernization and renovation project that includes a focus on more efficient care, according to an article on the Post-Crescent website.
As part of the fourth phase of renovation, St. Elizabeth's opened a new cafeteria that is open to the public and includes a coffee shop, grill, stone-fired pizza, soup, deli and salad bars. The new space with natural lighting overlooking a new courtyard.
This phase of renovation also includes a new five-story building with 90 private patient rooms.
According to Heather Schimmers, vice president of patient care services, St. Elizabeth's did not add beds, but replaced the existing beds, focusing on more efficient care.
