Armstrong Green Genie online environmental tool now includes new ecoScorecard service

LANCASTER, PA — With the launch of its new Green Genie® online environmental information tool, Armstrong® Ceiling & Wall Systems is harnessing the power of the web-based ecoScorecard™ technology platform to help architects and designers identify, evaluate, and document ceiling products that fulfill the environmental goals of their projects.

greenGenie(tm) LEED(tm) CALCULATOR. powered by ecoScorecardUpdated with the new technology, the Green Genie tool simplifies the search for Armstrong Ceiling Systems based on criteria such as environmental characteristics, LEED® rating system credits, and third-party certifications.

The new capability enables architects, designers, and other specifiers to select ceiling products that meet their environmental needs and evaluate how the environmental characteristics of the products can be applied to credits toward LEED and other green building rating systems. The new tool includes LEED v4 credits.

Calculate LEED Credits and Produce Documentation

The free, easy-to-navigate Green Genie tool, which is accessible 24/7 from the Armstrong website, allows users to calculate the number of LEED credits each product provides and produce the documentation needed for the LEED submission process. The information can be saved within the system for future reference.

The updated Green Genie tool also provides BIM (Building Information Modeling) users with free plug-ins for Trimble SketchUp® and Autodesk Revit® which can be used to evaluate and document the environmental performance of the selected ceiling products in a 3D model.

Easy Access from Armstrong Website

By making the ecoScorecard technology available to its customers, Armstrong is demonstrating its ongoing commitment to make sustainable information on its products easy to access, says Anita Snader, environmental sustainability manager for Armstrong Commercial Ceilings.

“We realize that LEED documentation can be a time-consuming process,” says Snader. “Now our customers are able to access ecoScorecard directly from the Green Genie tool on our website, research our sustainable ceiling options, perform calculations, and produce LEED documentation in a matter of minutes.”
