Ascension Saint Thomas leaders, community officials, physicians and healthcare partners gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new full-service hospital and integrated health campus in Clarksville.

The $148.5 million project will anchor a 96-acre healthcare campus near the intersection of Highway 76 and Interstate 24 and is designed to meet the needs of one of the fastest-growing communities in Tennessee.

The new hospital will open with 44 inpatient beds and will be designed to expand to 132 beds as community needs grow. Initial services will include emergency care, inpatient surgery, cardiology, neurosciences, women’s health, neonatal intensive care, oncology and orthopaedics. Additionally, the campus will include a comprehensive group of physicians and sub-specialtists, an inpatient rehabilitation hospital, outpatient surgery, advanced imaging and specialty ambulatory care, making it easier to deliver coordinated care close to home at every stage of life.

The integrated campus will include prominent physician groups and health system partners to elevate the access and infrastructure in the region, including: Tennessee Oncology, Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance, Ascension Saint Thomas Heart, Howell Allen Clinic and a new inpatient rehabilitation hospital with Lifepoint Health. A collaborative public-private partnership with Montgomery County will bring a new state-of-the-art ambulance and EMS station to the campus, bringing enhanced emergency response and greater peace of mind to the community.

The project is expected to create approximately 250 hospital jobs and generate an estimated annual economic impact of $316 million while supporting more than 1,300 direct and indirect jobs throughout the region.
