Access and security are critical requirements when it comes to designing healthcare facility entrances, according to an article on the Architecture and Design website.
Different types of entrances present their own challenges.
Sliding doors are recommended for the main entrance. For interior hallways and living room areas, swing doors or interior sliding doors can be the best solutions.
For corridors and hallways, which often function as a fire break, the solution is usually two automatic swing doors with an automatic door closer that open in sequence for added fire protection, the article said.
