Patient care can create a specific set of challenges. When patients can’t take care of themselves they count on healthcare staff for  basic needs, including safety.
 
Healthcare security and facilities staffs should consider all of these challenges when they’re assessing security needs.
 
Security is all about creating layers of protection, the article said. In healthcare, the first layer is an engaged employee population.
