Becker's names 100 great hospitals in America for 2020

The hospitals were selected for inclusion based on analysis of ranking and award agencies, including U.S. News & World Report's 2019-20 rankings, CareChex, Healthgrades, CMS star ratings, Leapfrog grades and IBM Watson Health top hospitals


Becker's Healthcare recently release the 2020 edition of its list of "100 great hospitals in America."

The hospitals were selected for inclusion based on analysis of ranking and award agencies, including :s 2019-20 rankings, CareChex, Healthgrades, CMS star ratings, Leapfrog grades and IBM Watson Health top hospitals. Becker's also sought nominations for this list.

This list was compiled and developed before the pandemic hit the U.S.

 The first five hospitals (alphabetically) on the list are: 

  • Abbott Northwestern Hospital (Minneapolis)

  • AdventHealth Orlando (Fla.).

  • Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center (Charlotte, N.C.).

  • Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center (Sioux Falls, S.D.).

  • Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center (Milwaukee)
