Bethesda hospital to get $273 million upgrade

Suburban Hospital to unify campus with new facility and parking structure

A $273 million upgrade of Bethesda, Md.'s, Suburban Hospital will unify campus with new facility and parking structure, according to an article in the Washington Business Journal.

Suburban's current parking structure and adjacent two-story administrative building will be demolished to make room for a new larger parking structure.

The hospital also will build a 300,000-square-foot attached building which will have almost all private patient rooms. The project will nearly double the size of the hospital.

The Suburban project is meant to "rightsize" a campus that has already maxed out every square inch of usable space, hospital officials said.
