Biggest hospital construction projects in August

Pittsburgh's Allegheny Health Network $1 billion expansion the largest


August saw more hospitals and health systems announcing facilities improvements and Pittsburgh's Allegheny Health Network $1 billion expansion is the the largest, according to an article on the Healthcare Finance website.

Also in the works, Western Connecticut Health Network in Danbury, Conn., is planning a five-story, 250,000-square foot health center which will cost more than $100 million.

Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron in Ohio is planning a 38,000-square-foot facility that features primary care, along with a dozen specialty care and rehab services.

Other projects announced include: a new hospital for  HonorHealth in Scottsdale, Ariz. and a microhospital for Beaufort Memorial Hospital in Beaufort, S.C.
