Brisbane hospital set for major upgrades

Australian private teaching hospital plans upgrades to serve southeast Brisbane’s growing population

An Australian private teaching hospital is planning upgrades to serve southeast Brisbane’s growing population, according to an article on the Courier Mail website.

A 15-year master plan for Greenslopes Private Hospital was submitted for consideration by Brisbane City Council in June.

The blueprints showed new consulting suites, inpatient accommodation, expansions to clinical services buildings and other current services as well as a new ambulance entrance.

The proposal also included changes to the Heritage Places Overlay Map as, under current zoning, the entire site was considered a “heritage place.” The plans suggested that only parts of the hospital were historically significant.
