The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services updated its Hospital Compare database in December, including an update to its Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating program, according to an article on the Becker's Hospital Review website.
This was the second time CMS updated the overall quality star ratings.
The cut the number of quality measures used from 64 to 57 measures, though the categories were unchanged.
CMS also said it would reduce the number of updates from four to two in 2017.
