Chicago hospital gets more than $25 million in upgrades

Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital has made infrastructure improvements over the last nine months

Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago's Uptown has made a series of infrastructure improvements over the last nine months, according to an article on the Crains Chicago Business website.

Pipeline Health has invested more than $25 million in the 236-bed hospital, including transitioning to a new electronic medical record system, renovating the parking structure, upgrading equipment and adding medical staff.

The hospital is opening an outpatient behavioral health program focused on group therapy, with the capacity to treat up to 24 patients at a time.

Weiss is behind with technology and renovations because the previous owners didn’t make investments unless something was a patient safety concern, according to a hospital official.
