According to the article, the facility paid homage to the culture it serves through design and use of materials by layering a combination of more modern materials such as steel and glass and more traditional wood and stone.
Lights suspended from the vaulted ceiling provide a dramatic flair for patients and visitors as they enter the facility, the article said.
