When Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia build its safe haven unit, evidence-based design was used to choose design features proven to have a positive effect on the emotional state of patients, according to an article on the Healthcare Design website. For instance, instead the bold colors schemes and visual activity in other departments have been replaced with a soothing color palette of greens, blues, and lavenders and nature-themed graphics.
