Cintas in Charlotte, NC Earns Carolina Star Certification for Safety and Health

Cintas Corporation announced that its Charlotte, NC First Aid & Safety location achieved Carolina Star certification, the North Carolina Department of Labor’s (NCDOL) highest level of safety and health recognition. The NCDOL created the Carolina Star Program to recognize and promote effective safety and health management systems at workplaces throughout the state.

Cherie Berry, NCDOL Commissioner of Labor, and other OSHA representatives joined Mark Carter, President and COO of Cintas’ First Aid & Safety Division, and Cintas employee-partners for a special ceremony on December 4 at the Cintas location at 6300 Harris Tech Blvd in Charlotte.

“Working safely every day is part of our culture, so earning this distinction is an honor,” said Nathan Murphy, General Manager at the Cintas Charlotte First Aid & Safety location. “Earning Carolina Star certification demonstrates the collaboration across our team to foster a productive work environment with the common goal of eliminating workplace injuries and illnesses.”

The Carolina Star Program is designed to recognize employers and employees who have implemented effective safety and health management systems and maintain injury and illness rates that meet the criteria for participation. Star Program participants are proactive and partner with the N.C. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Division in an effort to prevent fatalities, injuries, and illnesses.
