Collingswood Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center Named One of Maryland's Best Nursing Homes 2020

A $4.5 million renovation in the works at Collingswood Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, and recognition as one of Maryland’s “Best Nursing Homes 2020” in Newsweek reflect enhancements in quality care and services at the 160-bed Rockville skilled nursing facility. Marquis Health Services acquired Collingswood earlier this year.

Marquis recently introduced a physician-led Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at Collingswood, designed to promote independence and quality of life through the reduction of pulmonary symptoms and decreased disability in acute and chronic lung patients. The firm also is in the midst of a comprehensive building renovation that is creating a modern, hospitality-focused environment for patients and staff. Improvements include the addition of approximately 30 private rooms and expansions of the therapy gym and common spaces, such as the dining areas and day rooms.

Newsweek, in partnership with global data research firm Statista Inc., recently established its “Best Nursing Homes” ranking, analyzing over 15,000 nursing homes in

the U.S. According to Newsweek, the 65+ demographic will account for more than 20% of U.S. residents by 2030, and studies say that 70% of that population will need some type of long-term care. In addition to the Newsweek honor, Collingswood maintains a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Located at 299 Hurley Ave., Collingswood provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care. Collingswood is situated on nearly five acres in Montgomery County, approximately 18 miles northwest of Washington, D.C.

Marquis Health Services, the healthcare affiliate of Tryko Partners, LLC, is a recognized leader in providing subacute rehabilitation and skilled nursing care. The company operates nearly 3,000 beds at 25 Mid-Atlantic and New England facilities.
