Community Hospital Corporation (CHC) announced plans for a state-of-the-art, $400 million nonprofit acute care hospital in Sherman, Texas. Heritage Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is planning to open to the public in early 2028.

The initial phase of the HRMC development will include 100 inpatient beds and the infrastructure to support future expansion of all major departments - surgery, imaging, emergency and outpatient services - with capacity for up to 200 additional inpatient beds.  HRMC will employ over 400 employees in the initial phase and future expansion will increase the employee count to over 1,000.

This landmark project is being brought to life through a partnership between CHC and several key community stakeholders, including The City of Sherman, Grayson County, First United Bank, Simmons Bank, First State Bank, two prominent tribal nations, the WNJ Health Foundation, the Texoma Community Foundation and Covenant Development - a respected real estate developer in the Sherman area. ADAMS Management Services Corporation will serve as the owner's representative overseeing construction and the national healthcare architectural firm ESa will design the facility.

The hospital will not only address the immediate health care needs of Sherman, surrounding communities and Southern Oklahoma but also foster collaboration with local investors and physicians to ensure a sustainable, community-driven model of care.

The new hospital will break ground in early 2026 within the Heritage Ranch Master Planned Community in southwest Sherman, with construction taking place near the intersection of Highway 82 and FM 1417.
