Cone Health plans to expand its care to consumers in Forsyth County. It filed a certificate of need (CON) with the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation. The 198,593 square-foot facility will be in southeast Forsyth County at 0 Cole Rd. That is west of I-74/Hwy 311 where it is connecting into the Northern Beltway.
The proposed hospital will complement existing Cone Health facilities in Kernersville, Winston-Salem, High Point and western Guilford County. Being along I-70 and the Northern Beltway puts the hospital within easy reach of east Winston-Salem, Rural Hall, King and High Point.
The CON submission for the hospital in Forsyth County includes:
- 56 acute care beds
- 18 emergency department bays
- 4 procedure rooms built to operating room standards
- 10 observation beds
- Imaging
- Pharmacy
- Intensive care beds
