ConsejoSano CEO Abner Mason Joins United States Of Care Founder’s Council

ConsejoSano, a venture-funded multicultural patient engagement platform for underserved populations, announced that its Founder and CEO Abner Mason has joined the founder’s council of United States of Care. Launched in February 2018, United States of Care is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that every single American has access to quality, affordable healthcare regardless of health status, social need or income.

As a member of the United States of Care founder’s council, Mason brings dynamic civic and business experience to the organization, with specific expertise in healthcare among multicultural, underserved populations. Mason founded ConsejoSano in 2014, the only patient engagement and care navigation system designed for Medicaid/Medicare, underserved and multilingual populations to better engage with the healthcare system. He serves as ConsejoSano CEO.

“I am honored to have been invited to join the founder’s council at United States of Care, and to work with the outstanding leaders driving its mission and movement,” said Mason. “I share in its passion to transform American healthcare and bring better care to all.”

Prior to ConsejoSano, Mason has served in multiple business and civic roles including Founder and CEO of the Workplace Wellness Council of Mexico, Founder and Executive Director of AIDS Responsibility Project, appointment by US President George W. Bush to the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS, and many other senior positions. He is among a number of minority leaders on the United States of Care founder’s council in addition to one of its only entrepreneurs leading a venture-backed technology startup.

“United States of Care has brought a powerful group of men and women together who are united in the same desire to improve healthcare in America,” adds Mason. “My experience with underserved, multicultural populations at ConsejoSano and the role technology can play in healthcare access is just part of what I’ll be bringing to the group.”

Other members of the founder's council include Mike Leavitt, former governor of Utah and former HHS secretary, former Senate Majority Leader, Bill First, investor Mark Cuban, Bernard Tyson of Kaiser Permanente, David Torchiana of Partners Healthcare, Tony Tersigni of Ascension Health, Steve Safyer of Montefiore Medical Center, Judy Rich of Tucson Medical Center, Patrick Conway of BlueCross BlueShield North Carolina, Dignity Health’s Lloyd Dean, Richard Gilfillan of Trinity Health, and Providence St. Joseph Health’s Rod Hochman.

Mason’s appointment to the United States of Care founder’s council is effective immediately. To learn more about United States of Care, visit https://unitedstatesofcare.org/. ConsejoSano can be found at www.consejosano.com.
