Construction begins on N.Y. medical campus

Orange Regional Medical Center is building a medical office building and a cancer center at the hospital's main campus

Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown, N.Y., is building a medical office building and a cancer center at the hospital’s main campus, according to an article on the Healthcare Construction + Operations website.

The office building will be 153,000 square feet and five stories and the cancer center will be a 26,000-square-foot, single-story facility.

The $99 million project will help consolidate many outpatient services from other off-campus locations on the existing 73-acre campus.

In 2011, Orange Regional Medical Center closed its two outdated hospitals and consolidated services into the first newly built, hospital built in New York State in more than 20 years, the article said.
