Retail healthcare facilites are finding new ways to compete in a competitive marketplace, according to an article on the Health Facilities Management website. One way is through consumer-centric design that may help with patient engagement.

Effective retail health facility design is  accessible, specific, clear, nimble, virtual and visible, the article said. 

Traditional healthcare facilities have been focusing on patient-centered design for awhile, but the retail sites are viewing them as consumers.

Designers are asking questions that retailers ask themselves when trying to convince a consumer to spend with them.
