Incorporating hospitality, spa and more wellness design elements fights 'sterile' stereotype


A group of healthcare administrators and designers spoke about how to design more comfortable healthcare facilities recently at the BOMA International’s 2019 Medical Office Buildings + Healthcare Real Estate Conference in Minneapolis. 

Throughout the session, the four speakers mentioned ways in which facility managers can make the patient environment more comfortable and welcoming, according  to an article on the Buildings website.

Examples included:

* Controlling aromas and sound with floral arrangements and pleasant music or white noise

* Adding community space for team meetings, classes, music and other special events
