Dallas' new Parkland Memorial Hospital receives LEED gold

The hospital previously won LEED gold for its eight-story parking garage and seeks the same status for its new power plant

The new Parkland Memorial Hospital received a LEED gold rating from the U.S. Green Building Council, according to an article on the Dallas News website.

The hospital previously won LEED gold for its eight-story parking garage and seeks the same status for its new power plant.

Parkland officials believe the hospital will see significant savings in energy costs and water usage. The hospital's annual energy costs might be cut by up to 35 percent along with a 30 percent reduction in water use.
