Dancker Launches New Business Unit

dancker -- an interior solutions firm focused on co-creating environments that support how people work and heal -- is launching ForBuild, a new interior construction services business unit, to provide specialized manufactured construction solutions to its clients.

With ForBuild, dancker is changing the way in which spaces are built by taking the construction process off-site and simplifying it through the integration of technology. This approach empowers innovation while providing better management of design quality, cost controls, and schedule certainty.

ForBuild, powered by dancker, will provide high-quality, custom-manufactured construction solutions for interior spaces that are flexible, cost effective, and designed to outlast building cycles for clients in the healthcare, education, and office environments. By leveraging advancements in technology and off-site construction, ForBuild will serve forward-thinking clients and their construction partners.

Chris Perruna, Vice President of Construction Solutions, has been tapped to lead the new business unit.  “With a background as an architect and Project Manager at a leading commercial real estate firm, Chris brings incredible insights to clients considering smarter ways to build out their spaces not only to meet today’s needs, but also to easily adapt to inevitable future changes,” says Kevin Klier, Senior Executive VP & General Manager at dancker. “We are very excited to expand our ability to support clients in their goal to create spaces that inspire their people and improve organizational performance.”

According to Perruna, a manufactured construction alternative to conventional construction offers numerous advantages to today’s building owners and construction managers. As conventional construction costs and labor shortages continue to affect the construction industry, ForBuild will better meet the needs clients and construction managers by introducing a full solution that can be manufactured (or pre-fabricated) in a factory, transported to the site, and then assembled on location.

“Because this technology-driven approach allows a project to run simultaneously on-site and in-factory, it can be substantially faster than traditional construction,” Perruna explains. “We can deliver functional spaces with increased efficiency through our design assist services with the design and construction team to assure construction costs, all while delivering custom solutions that have been optimized for our clients.”

ForBuild got its start with dancker’s recognition that clients needed greater flexibility in their spaces and began to offer architectural solutions in 2005. dancker became a  partner with DIRTT (a  manufacturer of customized interiors which combines 3D technology, configuration, and manufacturing software with in-house manufacturing of its prefabricated interior construction solutions), in 2014 to offer a manufactured construction alternative to conventional construction that is faster, cleaner, and more sustainable.

ForBuild represents a continuation of dancker’s long tradition of providing unique solutions to forward-thinking clients seeking custom results. At nearly 200 years old, dancker creates effective and flexible environments for organizations that include several Fortune 100 companies.
