Can sustainable healthcare facility construction and operation practices save more than $5 billion over the next 5 years? And if so, why aren’t more facilities adopting sustainable efforts?

This is the question examined in the January Healthcare Design article “The cost of going (or not going) green.” Managing Editor Jennifer Kovacs Silvis looks at two differing views on the topic.

The Commonwealth Fund report “Can sustainable hospitals help bend the health care cost curve?” asserts that billions of dollars can be saved with sustainable practices.
