Distech Controls first to introduce controllers designed to meet oil and gas industry standards


Distech Controls, an innovation leader in energy management solutions, today announced the availability of its LonMark® line of controllers developed to meet stringent standards for oil and gas industry applications. Originally designed for a leading Canadian integrated energy company, these LonMark certified controllers offer the industry the possibility to drive energy efficiency, reliability and safety across facilities.

This offer comes at a time where key players within the energy field are turning to standardization as a way to ensure consistent value from controls vendors, while simultaneously improving efficiency and safety in their facilities. In response, LonMark International created and adapted several profiles (Unit Heater, Wall Unit, Roof Top Unit, and AHU) and safety-focused sub-profiles (hardwired gas detection, fire alarm, recirculation, full ventilation, and safety instrumented system (SIS)).

Distech Controls is the first to develop products that comply with these profiles.  The company provides the unique value of fully programmable controllers, allowing for the customization of control and monitoring sequences according to specific equipment and facility requirements.  In addition, select models of the offering feature live graphics color display, for an integrated operator interface.
