The new SSM Health SLU Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., will cost about $550 million and will be built across the street from the facility it replaces, according to an article on the KPLR 11 website.
The project has a design center, which contains mock-ups of all types of hospital rooms.
The rooms and the equipment are all made of foam, so it’s easy to move objects around and see the final product before a design is set in stone.
Doctors, nurses and other hospital employees have been through the center to offer input as to how a room should be designed.
