Dude Solutions Closes Asset Purchase Agreement with New Energy Technology (NET)

Dude Solutions, the leading software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider of operations management solutions, andNew Energy Technology (NET), experts in developing and supporting energy information software systems, today announced the successful transaction of an asset purchase agreement. Dude Solutions has acquired the EnergyCenter™ product asset from NET and welcomes a veteran team of product management and software engineering experts who will be joining the company.

Energy Center is a cloud-based energy information system equipped to support all aspects of a sustainable, high-performance energy management program. From a single interface, users can collect and track utility bills, synchronize data with an ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager account and interpret energy data to quickly identify cost savings.

“Energy is the second largest cost in the annual budget of our clients, and we are always seeking ways to help them track, control, conserve and reduce their overall utility spend,” said Ed Roshitsh, CEO of Dude Solutions. “After two years of selling and implementing the EnergyCenter (as Energy Manager™ by way of partnership with NET), our clients are regularly saving 5-15% when using the software to inform and implement energy savings programs. By purchasing the EnergyCenter asset from NET, we’re able to continue NET’s great work and empower even more organizations to take control of their energy expenses and become better stewards of resources for their communities.”

The acquisition marks the start of a newly created Energy business unit for Dude Solutions as the company continues its focus on selling Energy Manager to organizations in education, local government and healthcare. There are no changes to the product or service experience for existing Energy Manager clients.

“NET was founded in 2003 with the purpose of empowering organizations to effectively manage their energy and basic utility use. That’s why we created The EnergyCenter: technology designed for both the sophisticated energy engineer and daily commercial facility operator to build a conservation army across their entire organization. When operators – both in the public and private sector – have access to the right information at the right time, they make smarter decisions and see better results,” said Charley Haupt, President of NET. “By partnering with Dude Solutions, we are empowering thousands of organizations to build their conservation army, eliminate energy waste, achieve significant savings and help protect the environment.”

As part of the agreement, NET will continue providing service and support to their existing clients and retain a license to sell to industries not served by Dude Solutions. Additionally, Dude Solutions has entered into a lease agreement for the NET software engineering office in Olympia, WA, establishing the company’s fifth location in North America.
