| The Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC), a non-profit standards development organization and accrediting body for organizations that electronically exchange healthcare data, today announced that it has been awarded the Best Overall Cybersecurity Company from MedTech Breakthrough, an independent organization that recognizes the top companies, technologies and products in the global health and medical technology market today.
"The incidence of cyberattacks across healthcare have more than doubled in the last five years, and it's estimated that data breaches cost the healthcare industry $6.2B annually," said Lee Barrett, executive director, EHNAC. "In this turbulent healthcare data security environment, it's an honor for EHNAC to be named Best Overall Cybersecurity Company by the MedTech Breakthrough awards. We believe in the critical importance of this role - helping organizations enhance stakeholder trust, provide risk management, prepare planning assessments, and secure their protected health information."
The mission of the MedTech Breakthrough Awards is to honor excellence and recognize the innovation, hard work and success in a range of health and medical technology categories, including Patient Engagement, Electronic Health Records, mHealth, Medical Devices, Medical Data and many more. This year's program attracted more than 2,000 nominations from over 10 different countries throughout the world. All nominations were evaluated by an independent panel of experts within the medical and health industry.
