The cosmetic upgrades at the Easton Hospital ER reflect a culture changed, according to an article on the Lehigh Valley Live website. The Easton, Pa., hospital pledged that emergency patients will see a healthcare provider within 30 minutes.
The emergency department underwent $1.2 million in renovations that were designed to allow — in addition to expediency — greater patient privacy, updated equipment and a space designed specifically to improve the experience and outcomes for older patients.
"For many patients, the emergency department is the first connection to Easton Hospital," CEO John Zidansek said in the article. "This is not just a renovation. It's a commitment we make as a team that the level of service we provide at the emergency department is a level above — that it would exceed the level of the patients' expectations."
