As the virus spread, hospital associations and other groups began updating protocols that were usually intended for influenza outbreaks or less common events like Ebola, the article said.
Then it became more and more evident that COVID-19 was not like these other situations.
“I’ve been in environmental services for 17 years and I have never seen anything like this,” Glen Rogers, assistant director of environmental services at the University of Iowa Healthcare, said in the article.
