Envision Healthcare Patients Will Receive Coronavirus Care without Unexpected Costs

Envision Healthcare today affirmed its commitment to supporting healthcare providers caring for patients affected by the COVID-19 outbreak and working with healthcare facility partners and public health and safety officials to contain the spread of the virus. Envision’s efforts include its policy of treating all patients, regardless of their ability to pay, and offering direct support to patients to help them understand potentially complicated health plan bills.

“As in so many health and safety crises, our doctors and caregivers are on the front lines, working hard to contain the spread of the coronavirus by identifying and treating patients who present symptoms,” said Envision President and CEO Jim Rechtin. “Testing and screening patients for coronavirus must be treated as an essential health benefit, and patients should be afforded access to care without undue financial burdens. Envision remains fully committed to serving every patient in need of care.  Our providers are expediently delivering care to these patients and we will continue to treat every patient, regardless of their ability to pay. As the coronavirus situation continues to unfold, Envision is committed to protecting patients, as well as the physicians and other clinical professionals who put themselves in harm’s way on behalf of those patients.”
