Ergotron Selects New CEO

Ergotron, a global movement company focused on designing and manufacturing kinetic work environments, today announced Chad Severson as the organization’s chief executive officer. Chad has been serving as CEO for the company since January 1 of this year. Severson, who most recently served as president of InSinkErator, a division within Emerson Commercial & Residential Solutions, succeeds Pete Segar in the role.

“We are fortunate to have someone of Chad’s ability and experience to lead Ergotron and continue to build upon the momentum we’ve gathered as a business,” said Simon Peckham, CEO of parent company Melrose Industries. “With the ever growing trend of getting people to move more as they work, learn, play and care for others, Chad’s proven experience in strategy, marketing, operations and general management will prove advantageous for Ergotron who is a trusted brand and manufacturer in this space.”

As a senior leader with deep experience in building high performance teams across a variety of industries, Severson will focus the company on business strategy, innovation, lean execution and challenge existing conventions to drive greater appeal upon non-endemic audiences.

“Ergotron is in an exciting moment in time – we have strong customer relationships, an invested leadership and employees who are focused on innovation and developing products that solve real needs,” said Severson. “I’m eager to lead an organization with an important mission centered on wellness and productivity.”

Severson wants to challenge leaders and management teams who are failing to invest in adopting dynamic work environments for their teams.

“Workplaces that lack movement and remain static are truly a leadership challenge,” says Severson. “Flexibility in how, where and when an employee works is a necessary criteria organizations need to attract, retain top talent and realize high employee potential. We’re ready to challenge leaders to plan for a comprehensive wellness approach that gives employees options for workspace movement throughout their day.”

A graduate of the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Severson began his career at Emerson following the completion of his Air Force commitment. He held roles in analysis, product management, sales and marketing before leading business units across multiple verticals including HVAC, outdoor power, construction, automotive and consumer durables. Severson also holds a master’s of business administration degree from The Ohio State University.
