The Fargo-area healthcare facilities are struggling to fill healthcare positions in food service, housekeeping and building maintenance and nursing, according to an article on the Prairie Business website.
The problem has become so acute that the North Dakota Hospital Association is surveying members to try to identify initiatives to address the problems.
Among the factors behind the health care hiring crunch:
• The retirement of the large baby boomer cohort creating vacancies that need to be filled
• Expansion of hospital and clinic services, creating new positions to be filled
