Flatwater Solutions Wins $20 Million Indian Health Services Contract

Flatwater Solutions, a subsidiary of the Flatwater Group, was awarded a one-year contract with four one-year options totaling $20 million under the authority of the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) Business Development Program.  The scope of the contract allows for the procurement of medical equipment for the Indian Health Service (IHS), Department of Health and Human Services. The Flatwater Group is a division of Ho-Chunk, Inc., the socio-economic development corporation owned by the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska.

The contract allows IHS to utilize Flatwater Solutions for the provision of equipment, parts, materials and labor to install medical equipment with IHS hospitals and clinics under construction and/or renovation. This may include furniture and equipment for pharmacy, physical therapy, optometry, laboratory and facility support materials.

The Indian Health Service, an agency within the Department of Health and Human Services, provides federal health services to American Indians and Alaska Natives.  The IHS is the principal federal health care provider and health advocate for Indian people, and its goal is to raise their health care status to the highest possible level.

“As a Tribally-owned company, we are proud to support our own tribal communities. This contract is a perfect fit for us as we have years of experience providing quality solutions for furniture, fixtures and equipment.  As the single vendor on this contract, we will streamline the IHS procurement process for medical equipment, providing more cost-effective equipment and furniture, as well as efficient delivery times,” said Phillip Brooking, Business Development Director, Flatwater Group.

The Flatwater Group is a highly professional collection of small businesses delivering quality, cost-effective products and services to U.S. Government agencies.  They specialize in office, health, and technology solutions, professional support services, raw and fabricated metals, and logistics services. The Flatwater Group includes businesses that are certified participants in the 8(a) program of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), HUBZone and Buy Indian Programs.
