Sarasota Memorial Hospital-Venice is on track to welcome its first patients this fall. A full-service, acute care hospital, SMH-Venice was built to serve the growing south Sarasota County area.

The 65-acre campus will include a 365,000-square-foot, five-story hospital with 110 private patient suites, a 28-bed emergency department, eight surgical suites and an inpatient rehabilitation and recovery gym.

Also on campus are a two-story, 60,000-square-foot medical office building for physician and specialty care practices and an adjacent 400-space parking garage, as well as ample surface parking. A negative-pressure ventilation system will be able to convert all or part of the hospital’s Critical Care Unit to a pandemic unit if needed.

When it opens, SMH-Venice will offer a full slate of medical and surgical care — from cardiology, orthopedics and intensive care to surgery and comprehensive labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum care.

Seamlessly integrated with the resources, expertise and support of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, SMH-Venice will deliver south county residents more convenient access to the top-ranked acute care and surgical treatment Sarasota Memorial is known for.
