An outpatient clinic in Cape Coral, Fla., incorporates a design philosophy that could make patient and staff interactions more efficient through quicker check-ins and better flow to and from examination rooms, according to an article on the News-Press website.
The $13 million clinic is the first the Lee Memorial Health System to test the concept.
Features include a new self check-in kiosk and a smaller public seating area adjoined by a coffee shop.
Patient examination rooms upstairs are designed to feel less cramped by eliminating hinged doors in favor of sliding ones. They are also equipped with scales for private height and weight measurements,.
