Fungal spores have been found in the Cape Fear Valley Hospital nursery during construction, according to an article on the Fay Observer website.
The fungal spores are common and can be found outside and in homes; also, they're generally not harmful, a spokesperson for the Fayetteville, N.C., hospital said.
The construction project began Aug. 12 to address a leak caused by recent rain.
The construction process requires air quality testing, which is how the spores were found.
